Arrivé is the past participle of the verb "arriver" (to arrive). It can function as part of a compound verb tense (e.g., *passé composé*) or as an adjective meaning "arrived."
USAGE
With *être*, it means "arrived": *Il est arrivé en retard* (He arrived late).
As an adjective: *Les voyageurs arrivés* (The arrived travellers).
TRAPS
Remember agreement! When used with *être* or as an adjective, arrivé must agree in gender and number with the subject or noun it modifies: *Elle est arrivée* (She arrived). *Les lettres arrivées* (The arrived letters).
