GENERAL INFO
Aurait is the conditional present form of the verb avoir (to have).
It means “he/she/it would have” or, in expressions like il y aurait, “there would be.”
USAGE
It expresses hypothetical situations, uncertainty, or reported information.
"Il aurait faim." → He would be hungry
"On aurait pu y aller." → We could have gone there
"Il y aurait un problème." → There might be / would be a problem
It is also used in the conditional perfect (past hypothetical):
"Il aurait mangé." → He would have eaten
