GENERAL INFO
changer is a regular -ER verb meaning "to change" or "to alter." It can be used transitively (to change something) or intransitively (to undergo change).
USAGE
As a transitive verb: *Je change la date.* (I change the date.)
As an intransitive verb: *Les choses changent vite.* (Things change quickly.)
It can also be reflexive: *Se changer* means to get changed.
TRAPS
When meaning "to change X" (where X is a noun), it often takes the preposition "de" directly before the noun: *changer de train* (to change trains), *changer d'avis* (to change one's mind). It can also use "pour" (to change for).
