Chercher is a verb meaning "to look for," "to search for," or "to fetch."

USAGE

It is usually followed directly by a noun or pronoun. Examples: *Je cherche mes clés.* (I'm looking for my keys.) *Elle cherche son chien.* (She's looking for her dog.) "Chercher à + infinitive" means "to try to": *Il cherche à comprendre.*

TRAPS
