Notes
GENERAL INFO
Comme is primarily a conjunction or an adverb. It means "as," "like," "how," or "since/because."
USAGE
It compares (*Elle est comme sa mère* - She is like her mother), introduces manner (*Fais comme tu veux* - Do as you wish), or expresses cause (*Comme il pleut, restons dedans* - Since it's raining, let's stay inside). It also introduces exclamations (*Comme c'est beau !* - How beautiful it is!).
TRAPS
Do not confuse comme with "comment" (how). Comme is never used to ask a question directly, unlike "comment" which is an interrogative adverb.
