GENERAL INFO
Entre means "between" or "among." It is a very common preposition in French. But it's also the conjugated form of the verb Entrer (to enter/go inside).
USAGE
You use entre to indicate a position or relationship involving two or more things/people.
"Le livre est entre la tasse et le stylo." (The book is between the cup and the pen.)
"Nous devons choisir entre plusieurs options." (We must choose among several options.)
"Le chien entre dans la maison." (The dog enters the house)
TRAPS
Do not confuse entre (preposition) with "entre" (third-person singular conjugation of the verb "entrer" - to enter).
For example: "Il entre dans la maison." (He enters the house.)
