Envie is a feminine noun meaning "desire," "wish," or "urge." It can also mean "envy."

USAGE

It's most commonly used with the verb "avoir" (to have) to express wanting something or wanting to do something: "avoir envie de..."

Examples: "J'ai envie de dormir." (I want to sleep.) "Tu as envie d'un café ?" (Do you fancy a coffee?)
