Notes
GENERAL INFO
Famille means "family" and is a feminine noun in French.
USAGE
It's used broadly for immediate or extended relatives. For example: "Ma famille habite en France" (My family lives in France). You can also say "passer du temps en famille" (to spend time with family).
TRAPS
Remember it's always feminine: "la famille," "une grande famille." The "ille" ending is pronounced /ij/, like the "y" in "yes" but preceded by a vowel sound, not like the English "ill."
