Notes
GENERAL INFO
Raison (feminine noun) primarily means "reason" or "cause." It can also refer to "right" (as in being correct) or "sense/sanity."
USAGE
It's often used in fixed expressions: "avoir raison" (to be right), "donner raison à quelqu'un" (to agree with someone). "La raison pour laquelle..." means "the reason why...". "Pour quelle raison?" means "For what reason?".
TRAPS
Do not use "être raison" for "to be right"; always use "avoir raison." It's also not used for logical reasoning in the sense of "a reason to believe something" as directly as in English.
