savoir is a verb meaning "to know." It refers to knowing a fact, a piece of information, or knowing how to do something.
USAGE
Use savoir for knowing facts ("Je sais que tu es là" - I know that you are here) or knowing how to do something, followed by an infinitive ("Elle sait nager" - She knows how to swim).
