GENERAL INFO
Se is a reflexive pronoun (himself, herself, itself, themselves, oneself). It shows the subject performs the action on themselves.
USAGE
Always precedes the verb: "Il se lave" (He washes himself). Also for reciprocal actions ("Ils se parlent" - They talk to each other) or impersonal constructions ("Il se dit" - It is said).
TRAPS
Don't confuse se with direct/indirect object pronouns ("le," "lui"). It's for reflexive/reciprocal actions. It becomes "s'" before a vowel/mute 'h': "Il s' habille" (He dresses himself).
