Toi means "you" (singular, informal). It is a stressed pronoun (also called a disjunctive or tonic pronoun).

USAGE

Use toi for emphasis, after prepositions (e.g., "avec toi" - with you), in short answers ("Moi et toi" - Me and you), or after "c'est" ("C'est toi" - It's you).

GRAMMAR

Toi cannot be the direct subject of a verb; "tu" is used for that. "Tu manges." (You eat). Toi is used when "you" is stressed, isolated, or follows a preposition.
