Notes

GENERAL INFO

Vers is a preposition. It primarily means "towards" (direction), or "around/about" (approximation in time or location).

USAGE

Use vers to indicate movement in a direction: "Je vais vers la forêt." (I'm going towards the forest.) It also indicates approximate time: "Rejoins-moi vers 19h." (Meet me around 7 PM.) Or approximate location: "Il habite vers Lyon." (He lives near Lyon.)

TRAPS

Be careful not to confuse vers (preposition) with similar-sounding words like *verre* (glass), *vert* (green), or *ver* (worm). Vers is invariable and never changes its form.
