Notes
GENERAL INFO
Fini means "finished" or "done." It is the past participle of the verb "finir" and also functions as an adjective.
USAGE
As an adjective, it agrees: *Le travail est fini.* (The work is finished.) *La tâche est finie.*
As a past participle with "avoir": *J'ai fini mon repas.* (I finished my meal.)
It can also be used as an interjection: *Fini!* (It's over!)
TRAPS
Remember to make fini agree when used as an adjective (*La leçon est finie*). With "avoir" in the *passé composé*, it generally doesn't agree unless the direct object precedes the verb.
