"Pourrait" is the third-person singular (il/elle/on) and first/second-person singular (je/tu) form of the verb "pouvoir" (to be able to/can) in the conditional present tense. It means "could."

USAGE

It expresses possibility or hypothesis ("Il pleut, il pourrait faire froid" - It's raining, it could be cold) or a polite suggestion/request ("Pourrait-on aller au cinéma ?" - Could we go to the cinema?).

TRAPS

Do not confuse "pourrait" (conditional) with "pourrai" (future tense, meaning "I will be able to"). The conditional has an "i" before the "t".
