GENERAL INFO

venu is the past participle of the verb *venir* (to come). It means "come" or "arrived." It can also function as an adjective.

Most commonly, it's used with *être* to form compound tenses like the passé composé: *Je suis venu* (I came/I have come).

It also appears as an adjective: *une voiture venue de loin* (a car come from afar).

When used with *être*, venu must agree in gender and number with the subject: *Elle est venue*, *Ils sont venus*, *Elles sont venues*.
