GENERAL INFO
Voici means "here is" or "here are." It is an invariable particle used to present something or someone physically close to the speaker or about to be introduced.
USAGE
You use voici to point out or introduce people or objects: "Voici ma sœur." (Here is my sister.) "Voici les documents." (Here are the documents.) It can also start a list: "Voici les ingrédients nécessaires..." (Here are the necessary ingredients...).
TRAPS
Often confused with "voilà." Voici implies proximity to the speaker or a current presentation, while "voilà" suggests something further away, already established, or the conclusion of something.
